The Chief Sustainability Officer for Tassal, Linda Sams, commenting on the Tasmanian State Government approval of the expansion of two additional leases for Tassal on the Tasman Peninsula, said ”The Creeses Mistake lease area will go from 25 hectares to 48.5 hectares, while the second lease will increase from 55 to 143 hectares.”
Further adding “No extra fish farming will be done in the two areas, but the expansion of the leases will enhance Tassal's ability to reduce stocking density and rotate stock through pens. The expansion will contribute further to fish health as well as good environmental outcomes.”
