“The Purchasing and Ingredient Suppliers Conference is a unique event held each year that provides members with an opportunity to meet hundreds of other feed ingredient buyers and sellers in one place,” said Veronica Rovelli, AFIA’s senior director of meetings and events. “In addition to the robust educational program, attendees can conduct business while making new connections and enjoying the planned networking programs.”
This year’s program will run Tuesday through Thursday and will include member favourites such as the golf tournament, sporting clays tournament, and receptions. Several speakers have been confirmed to date, including Alison Van Eenennaam, Ph.D., University of California, Davis, who will speak about “Communicating Science in a Networked World,” and Dan Klein, author of My 3:59, who will share his story of living in the present and moving with purpose.
Additional details can be found on the agenda portion of the event’s website, HERE.
Register by Jan. 15 to receive the early-bird rate of $669 for AFIA members and $2,150 for non-members. Members can receive a $100 discount for registering online.
AFIA will again offer its “Buyers to PISC” program at the 2018 conference, which provides scholarships to buyers who are attending the conference for the first time. The Suppliers Showcase will also return for the third time and will be more prominently placed in the networking area than in previous years. There will also be a limited number of private meeting rooms available to members on a first come, first served basis.
More information on each of these opportunities can be found on the event’s website, HERE.
PISC registration is under a new format this year, with an improved event website and enhanced informational features. The change is intended to simplify and streamline the registration process for AFIA members. Registrants should contact Connie Samuels, AFIA’s manager of meetings and events, with any questions.
