This year's TIFSS 2017 was co-hosted along with Taiwan's Agriculture Week 2017. However, it was fisheries and aquaculture that the opening focused on. with Government representatives including the Director General of the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Mr Kuo Hsiang Lai and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture Mr Huang Chin-Cheng speaking for the government.
The aim of the event is to assist industry in gauging international business opportunities.
However, the TIFSS 2017 covers both marine fishing and aquaculture through processing, distribution to retail with many samples of both raw fish and cooked fish products on display and for visitors to taste and compare.
This event continues to show the government's commitment to promote the best of the countries wild caught and locally grown fish products throughout Asia and beyond. However, the event is also open to those countries wanting to engage with Taiwan in these sectors.
