10/01/14: Event: Aquaculture Europe 2014 call for abstracts

The European Aquaculture Society (EAS) in partnership withAZTI-Tecnalia, a Spanish technological centre specialised in marine and food research, will present Aquaculture Europe 2014 this October.

What will Aquaculture Europe include?
With a strong scientific programme that includes more than 20 parallel sessions, Aquaculture Europe will allow delegates to present initiatives that add value to aquaculture, covering the basic and applied science behind all aspects of aquaculture, technical aspects of production, harvest, processing and commercialisation of aquaculture products.
 
The event will feature an international trade exhibition where Spanish and international companies will present the latest products and services for aquaculture. 

As with all Aquaculture Europe events, there will be an EU Forum addressing research funded by the European Community and chaired by members of the European Commission.

An EAS Student Group workshop and Industry Forum will also offer networking opportunities and the chance to exchange of ideas related to aquaculture. 

Parallel Sessions:
In addition to the thematic sessions, Aquaculture Europe will include parallel and poster sessions. The EAS is now inviting abstract submissions for these sessions. 

Abstracts can be submitted for a wide range of sessions including:

- Commercialisation of aquaculture products
 - Integrity, safety and authenticity of food products from aquaculture
 - By-products management
 - Climate change and environmental management
 - Nutrition: Requirements

 - Hatchery
 - Land-based aquaculture technologies
 - Offshore mariculture
 - Stock management strategies to control reproduction prior to harvest
 - Beyond monoculture
 - Advances in disease and welfare
 - Marine biotechnology
 - Genomic research and applications
 - Species diversification
 - Salmon farming sustainability
 - Eels - research progress
 - Shellfish
 - Seaweeds as food, feed and economic activity
 - Aquaponics
 - Organic aquaculture
 - Knowledge management, transfer and extension networks
 - Governance, policy and strategic planning
 - Biology of aquatic species gametes
 - Laboratory fish models for aquaculture applications
 - Sustainability assessment of the aquaculture chain

How much will Aquaculture Europe cost? 
A special membership rate is available to EAS members. 

Register by 30 June 2014
EAS member rate: €395
Non-member rate: €495

Register by 1 September 2014
EAS member rate: €445
Non-member rate: €545

Register after 1 September 2014
EAS member rate: €495
Non-member rate: €595

Special registration fees for Spanish nationals that are members of the Sociedad Española de Acuicultura (SEA) are also offered from now until 30 June 2014.  

A special membership rate is available to EAS members.

When/where is Aquaculture Europe?
Aquaculture Europe will take place from 14 - 17 october 2014 at the Kursaal Convention Centre, San Sebastián, Spain.
