The Nigerian government is in the midst of an ambitious project to build 960 aquaculture ponds to supply the fish demands of capital city Abuja. Currently 240 have been completed, and Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development Olvadi Madayi has indicated that at full capacity, the project will provide 250 jobs for local fish farmers.
