Australian shoppers have found themselves caught up in a child labour scandal, after it was revealed the four leading supermarket chains have been buying prawns from a Thai company rocked by the allegations, the Mail Online reports.

Aldi, Coles, IGA and Woolworths have all issued statements confirming they stock goods supplied by Thai Union, the company hit by slavery claims uncovered in one of its prawn peeling factories.

Poor migrant workers and children are being sold to factories in Thailand and forced to peel prawns that ends up in global supply chains, according to a shocking report from the Associated Press.
