15th fish international with lots of new offers from symposium to Smoke House
Preparations are underway: from Sunday 14 to Tuesday 16 February 2016 the fish industry will meet in the Bremen exhibition halls for the 15th fish international. Once again the organisers have some new features lined up. At a symposium they will draw attention to opportunities in the seafood sector, there will be special tasting sessions, plus a greatly enlarged aquaculture section. And visitors are additionally invited to attend not only 'Gastro Ivent' which is taking place parallel to the fish fair but for the first time also the in-house exhibition of FAG (Fleischer-Einkauf AG), one of the leading butcher’s suppliers in the north.
Apart from that: the fish international team will be welcoming many regular suppliers such as the wholesaler Transgourmet Seafood from Bremerhaven or the Dutch producer Parlevliet & Van der Plas. A lot of exhibitors will, in contrast, be in Bremen for the first time or will be back again after a break: for example Deutsche See (Bremerhaven), the largest German fish processor, or the world market leader for fish processing machines, Nordischer Maschinenbau Rud. Baader from Lübeck.

fish international is the German forum par excellence of visitors from the production, processing, trade, and catering sectors for information, discussion and exchange – at the fair as well as at the traditional Trawl Party on Sunday evening. Among the issues of special concern to the industry is currently the question: How can we inspire even more consumers to eat fish and seafood? Sabine Wedell: "Insiders will provide interesting approaches in a compact symposium."
A major role played by buyers and restaurateurs at fish international is always quasi as the tasters for consumers to get to know new or popular fresh, deli and frozen products – the fair organisers know this from visitor surveys. And to support this they are for the first time inviting people to the Smoke House. Here visitors will be able to taste smoked products, notice differences, learn interesting facts – or simply enjoy.
Anyone who presents fish in an interesting way can hope to awaken the consumer’s interest. Some retailers already smoke fish in their stores – an appetising spectacle which additionally emphasises product freshness. The special fish counter show will pick up this trend under the motto "Fascination Fire". In addition to smoker models there will for the first time be tandoori ovens on display which can be built into existing fittings for preparing exotic dishes.

Parallel to fish international FAG awaits its customers in Hall 7. In Hall 6 'Gastro Ivent' offers ideas and solutions for the catering sector. Here visitors will find the latest checkout systems, kitchen fittings, high-quality foods, drinks and much more. Under the title "Chefs on High Heels" top women chefs will organise tastings. Other major themes are street food and coffee.
Just one ticket allows admission to all three shows. The fish and the gastro fair are open from 10:00-18:00 on Sunday and Monday, and from 10:00-17:00 on Tuesday. The FAG exhibition takes place on Sunday and Monday at the times named above.
