With the help of 13 Korean experts and technicians, Bida, Niger has seen the arrival of rice mills to their complex and installations and testing are now underway.

The construction of this rice milling complex is been conducted and undertaken by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and aims to establish a "Modern Integrated Rice Processing and Milling Complex" in Niger state, Africa.

After the arrival of the experts last month, there is expected to be one month of work after which the complex will begin to operate.

“The scope of the project includes the construction of a centre equipped with modern equipment/machineries for the efficient processing and milling of fine quality rice for Niger state and the Nigerian populace in general.

“The outcome of the centre is to make life easier on the local farmers as well as to ensure the local production of high quality processed rice resulting in higher income for farmers," KOICA said in a statement.
