The world's production of tilapia is increasing, and today Egypt is the 2nd largest producer of tilapia, only surpassed by China.

The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations states:“In its development strategy, the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, plans to increase Egypt's total fish production to 1.5 million tonnes by 2017 and is targeting a harvest of 1 million tonnes from aquaculture. The sector is growing at levels exceeding those targeted in the plan.”

We estimate that Egypt currently produces in the range of 900,000 tons of tilapia on an annual basis. During recent years we have been taking the necessary measures to become a leading producer of fish feeds on the Egyptian market.

In 2009 our first visit to Egypt was followed by a joint-venture with a privately owned company. This led to the establishment of Aller Aqua Egypt. Largely due to the growing tilapia production more capacity was needed, and in 2015 we inaugurated a new state-of-the art factory in 6th of October City, Egypt. By doing so and by adding more than 50 years of know-how followed by a strong presence in the market we have raised the production of feed by a factor of 3. And the growth continues.

A unique joint-venture with a strong and trustworthy partner, combined with our know-how, R&D and quality set-up has brought us into this position.

A strong focus on production efficiency, environment and training are key words in our cooperation with fish farmers in Egypt – and of course all over the World.

Aller Aqua Egypt is today the largest producer of environmentally friendly fish feed in Egypt – and all of Africa.
